Locked The land across the Western Ocean, beyond the Grey Wall: a steampunk, technologically advanced place, far ahead of Meridia. Alyssa Kruger spent about two years there, and came back with the pistol that killed Malakor.

What happened in Farrow, and most of what Farrow is, belongs to a future campaign. Campaign Two skipped Alyssa's two years there in a timeskip. Don't fill it in here without a ruling.

What's established¶

Locked It was founded by the royal family and mages of Ferry, who fled west by ship from Mordakar's conquest in 75 BP. See Deep history.
Locked Its magic faded within a few generations, and it turned to steam. Its lands are rich in bronze and ore, and it raced ahead.
Locked It has guns. Alyssa's revolver was made "in a smoky city across the Western Ocean".
Locked Farrowans are descendants of Ferry, the old city people of Meridia and the forebears of Aldorians. Farrowan descends from Ferry's language, like Aldorian, so the two peoples can understand each other, and Farrowan names sound like older cousins of Aldorian ones.
Locked Farrowans believed all of Meridia had been left a ruin, and never sailed back east. The Grey Wall closed between the two, and opens only in the Calm, every few years. Only Captain Marrin knows a dangerous way through outside it (R-025).

Alyssa's expedition¶

The crew left Meridia from Westhaven in spring 907 AP, right around the time Kaelen invaded Aldoria. They came back about two years later, in spring 909 AP, and there was no Aldoria any more.

A real-world comparison

Think of the first few muskets that reached Japan in 1543 on a Portuguese ship. A handful of objects, and within a few years local smiths were copying them. Eleven's drawings could do the same here.

Who in Meridia knows¶

Alyssa's surviving shipmates, the two Farrowans, and a little to Eleven, who has taken the revolver apart. Almost everyone else thinks Hesperra is a story.
