Father Hollis

Father Hollis

Father Hollis, an old priest in patched vestments, ladling soup for refugees outside a ruined chapel

Faith The Order of the Sun
Role Chaplain; later head of the reformed Order
Base The ruined Order chapel, Solis
Status Alive

Locked A gentle, honest old priest who turned from Archon Solaris's informer into the reluctant leader of the reformed Order of the Sun.

"The Light and its people, not the walls."

Campaign One

When the Lord Protector rose, Archon Solaris sent Hollis to "pray" for him. Hollis was an honest churchman sent to do dirty work: an informer, planted as chaplain in Lord Trevor's household. Trevor turned him "to the Light, not the walls", and Hollis wrote the Archon only what Trevor allowed. He heard Dun's confession as a witness. He believed he served an honest, sharp Marcher lord.

The reform

After Solaris fell, the new King-Consort recommended Hollis to lead the gutted Order of the Sun. He took the work but not the title: he is still plain Father Hollis, and the Archon's seat stays empty, so that no churchman sits above the Crown again. It became weaker, humbler, and no longer a threat to the throne.

Now

He runs a soup line from the ruined Order chapel in Solis and shelters anyone, including Kaelen families.
