Locked Regent, regicide, conqueror of Aldoria, and Emperor of Kaelen for a single year. The last of the three men who burned Ghost-9, and the one Tristen never got to kill.
Appearance and manner¶
Tall and lean, with sharp, hard features and a predator's stillness. Imperious, sardonic and openly contemptuous of weakness, he had a cruel sense of humour and never raised his voice, because he never needed to. He believed the strong owe the weak nothing, and he meant to be master of his own fate. Owner's reference image: Alarak of the Tal'darim from StarCraft II.
Rise¶
Malakor was born to a cadet branch, a lord of the imperial blood outside the line of succession. When his uncle, Emperor Emperor Zaruth, fell mysteriously ill in 899 AP, the heir was an infant. Malakor became Lord Regent and head of the The Jade Lotus. The illness was his own poison.
The scheme¶
He conspired with Archon Archon Solaris and Grandmaster Grandmaster Vane to manufacture a war and profit from the chaos. When both courts chose peace instead, the three of them burned their own assassin, Ghost-9, to bury it (spring 900 AP). In 902 AP his hidden advance army waited above Hollowpass for a signal that never came. He lost a kingdom and his face, and came to suspect that the architect of his defeat was "the Ninth".
Emperor¶
He sent the Empire west at the spring new moon of 907 AP and overwhelmed Aldoria. When Zaruth died during the conquest (908 AP), Malakor passed over the child Emperor Ishar and took the throne himself. He spent two years hunting the Ninth.
Death¶
Summoned to the The Citadel, Alyssa Kruger told him she didn't know where the Ninth was. He believed her, but noticed she never asked who the Ninth was, and ordered her to hunt him. Instead she drew a Farrowan revolver in the Hall of the Ninth Door and shot him dead on his throne. To every Kaelen, his death reads as the ledger violently correcting (see Kar'esh).
